How did I approach a person about a Conversation?

I decided in advance what I most wanted to learn from the Conversation. Then, I was very specific in my requests to have a Conversation (for example: “I’m very curious to learn more about what really happens behind the scenes at a fashion show. Would you be willing to share some stories with me about your experiences as a hairdresser at these shows?”). I also think it’s important to let them know how long the Conversation will last (30 minutes or an hour seemed like a good time frame to me).
